Colombia’s President Appeals to Trump for Tariff Suspension Post-Earthquake

POLICY WIRE — Bogotá, Colombia — Colombia’s President Abelardo de la Espriella on Saturday called on US President Donald Trump to suspend tariffs on the South American nation as it continues to recover from a devastating earthquake. The earthquake, which struck the western Colombian cities of Cali and Pereira, resulted in the deaths of at least 300 people.
