POLICY WIRE — Bradford, UK — Renowned singer Ed Sheeran has been fined by the Bradford Magistrates’ Court following prosecution by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) over an administrative error involving his classic Aston Martin.
The court heard that Sheeran failed to inform the DVLA of a change of address, which is a legal requirement for vehicle registration. The oversight resulted in the issuance of penalty notices.
“Mr. Sheeran was prosecuted for not updating his address on the vehicle registration,” a DVLA spokesperson confirmed. “It’s imperative for vehicle owners to keep their details up to date to avoid such legal repercussions.”
Sheeran, who was not present in court, pleaded guilty to the offense. The fine amount was not disclosed during the hearing.
This incident comes amidst other high-profile legal matters, such as the recent $176 million lawsuit faced by a sheriff amid allegations of incompetence (read more).
