POLICY WIRE — London, UK — Jake Johnson, known for his seven-year role as Nick Miller on the popular sitcom New Girl, has revealed that he was asked to lose weight for the part. “They were right to ask me to lose weight – I came in tubby!” Johnson told Annabel Nugent in a recent interview.

After the conclusion of New Girl, Johnson found himself welcomed by Hollywood, including by actor Tom Cruise. He is now starring in a new Apple TV comedy series titled The Dink, where he has chosen to do things his own way.

“After New Girl ended, Hollywood – — and Tom Cruise – welcomed me with open arms,” Johnson said. “But for The Dink, I decided to take a different approach.”
